In a Nutshell:
‘Black and White’ by Prague-based artist Adam Pizurny uses the movement of high contrast light and shadow to create a detailed human form. The striped effect its self contains very little detail, but when combined with movement the images come to life as the human eye fills in the blanks. This is a theory knows as Gestalt or Gestaltism .
“This project is experiment seeing how far we could simplify the human body while people still recognize it—or find attractive,” Pizurny says. “Its also tribute to the 60s Op art movement.”
Pizurny experiments frequently with GIF art and the human form, while also designing album covers, book covers and more.
